Robert Jackson, President and CEO
Mr. Jackson has 30 years of experience in the
mining and investment banking industries. Mr. Jackson is a
qualified mining engineer with an MBA from the University of
Western Ontario and he is also a Chartered Financial
Analyst™. Mr. Jackson is President and CEO of the
corporation and has been a director since 2007. Mr.
Jackson was appointed President of the Corporation in
September 2006 and prior to that, from January 2003 to
August 2006, played a key role in the creation of Jaguar
Mining Inc. (no relation to Jaguar Financial Corporation), a
successful TSX gold producer, as a consultant and
subsequently as Executive Vice President, Corporate
Development. Prior to that Mr. Jackson was involved in a
number of companies in the investment industry including
Nesbitt Burns Inc. (formerly Burns Fry Limited). Mr.
Jackson is currently a director of a number of public and
private companies.
Kenneth W. Johnson, Managing Director, Brazil
Mr. Johnson has 25 years of international mining
and mineral exploration experience, with a specific focus on
diamond exploration. He has been involved in the planning,
financing and implementation of kimberlite and alluvial
diamond exploration and development programs in Brazil,
South Africa, Canada and central Africa. He has also been
involved in the evaluation of a number of diamond deposits
in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Sierra Leone,
and Venezuela. He possesses extensive knowledge of the
exploration for and recovery of diamonds and is also
experienced in the grading and valuation of rough diamonds,
holding a diamond grading certificate from International
Diamond Education & Consulting of South Africa. He has a
significant amount of experience in equity markets and has
been directly responsible for over $20 million in equity
financing for Vaaldiam during the past three years. Mr.
Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from
the University of Windsor, and is a Member of the Canadian
Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Toronto Branch. He is a
Past-Director (1999-2001) of the Prospectors and Developers
Association of Canada.
Frances Kwong, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
A Chartered Accountant (England & Wales), Frances
had extensive years of senior management level experience in
Hong Kong and Asia, including auditing with Deloitte;
finance with General Electric; and finance, systems
implementation, project management, and strategic planning
within the Cable and Wireless Group. Frances co-founded and
managed an educational publishing business and a consulting
business in Canada.
