Jean-Charles Potvin Mr. Potvin has
been the Chairman of the Corporation since its inception in
1992. Mr. Potvin was previously with Pangea Goldfields
Inc., which he successfully sold to Barrick Gold Corporation
in 2000 and prior to that worked for Burns Fry Limited, a
predecessor to BMO Nesbitt Burns, as a top-ranked Gold
Mining Analyst. Mr. Potvin has been involved in exploration
for many years and is a director of a number of public and
private companies. He is a director of Azimut Exploration
Inc. and Gold Reserve Inc., which has a major gold project
in Venezuela, Mr. Potvin holds an Honours B.Sc. degree in
Geology from Carleton University and an MBA degree from the
University of Ottawa.
Roland Bertin Mr.
Bertin has been a director of the Corporation since 2002.
Mr. Bertin previously worked for Nesbitt Burns Inc.
(formerly Burns Fry Limited) before retiring in 1994 after
forty years of service. While at Burns Fry, Mr. Bertin was
Director of Research and later Director and Chairman of the
Risk Management Committee. He is also a Director of the St.
Francis of Assisi Foundation, a charitable organization and
a Director of Mediaval Foundation.
Robert Jackson Mr.
Jackson is President and CEO of the Corporation and has been
a director since 2007. Mr. Jackson was appointed President
of the Corporation in September 2006 and prior to that, from
January 2003 to August 2006, played a key role in the
creation of Jaguar Mining Inc. (no relation to Jaguar
Financial Corporation), a successful TSX gold producer, as a
consultant and subsequently as Executive Vice President,
Corporate Development. Prior to that Mr. Jackson was
involved in a number of companies in the investment industry
including Nesbitt Burns Inc. (formerly Burns Fry Limited).
Mr. Jackson is currently a director of a number of public
and private companies. Mr. Jackson is an experienced mining
engineer who holds a P.Eng. (Ontario), an MBA and is a
Chartered Financial Analyst™.
Qinghua Lu Mr. Lu has
been a director of the Corporation since 2007. Mr. Lu is an
employee, and the nominee of Jinchuan Group Ltd., which
currently owns 8,904,113 Common Shares.
Mario Caron Mr. Caron
is currently a director and CEO of Aldridge Minerals Inc.
Aldridge is advancing its flagship Yenipazar polymetallic
VMS deposit in Turkey with a feasibility study which is
expected to be completed by year end 2012. He is the
Chairman of Orosur Mining Inc, a fully integrated gold
producer and explorer operating in Latin America and with
the only producing gold mine in Uruguay. He has held
positions with Axmin Inc., Tiberon Minerals Ltd., the
developer of a tungsten mine in Vietnam, Defiance Mining
Corporation, which brought the Tasiast gold project in
Mauritania to feasibility and Eden Roc Mineral Corp., a gold
producer in Cote d'Ivoire. Mr. Caron is also a director of
Andean American Gold Inc. Mr. Caron received his
Bachelor of Engineering, Mining at McGill University and is
a member of the Quebec Order of Engineers and the
Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.
Eric Roblin Mr.
Roblin is a Partner with the law firm Fogler, Rubinoff LLP,
his employer since May 1997. Mr. Roblin's practice is
focused on corporate finance and securities law.
Specifically, he has acted on numerous public and private
securities offerings as counsel for agents and underwriters
as well as for issuers listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange,
the New York Stock Exchange, the TSX Venture Exchange, the
American Stock Exchange, AIM and NASDAQ. Mr. Roblin has
acted as counsel on a number of merger and acquisition
transactions, both friendly and hostile, and also acts for a
number of public and private issuers in respect of ongoing
general corporate and securities law matters Mr. Roblin
holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen’s
University and a Juris Doctor from the University of
Toronto.
Stephen Woodhead
Mr. Woodhead is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered
Accountants, and has 20 years experience in the natural resource and public
finance sectors. Before relocating from South Africa to Canada in 1997 to
establish and manage the Canadian corporate headquarters of Trans Hex
International Ltd., Mr. Woodhead worked for the South Africa Department of
Finance and as the corporate financial manager for Trans Hex Group Limited, a
South African listed diamond producer.
In May 2003, Mr. Woodhead was
appointed Chief Financial Officer of Desert Sun Mining Corp., developer of the
Jacobina gold mine in Brazil, which was acquired by Yamana Gold Inc. in April
2006. Mr. Woodhead has also served as Chief Financial Officer of Admiral Bay
Resources Inc. (oil and gas), Beartooth Platinum Corporation (platinum group
metals), Longford Corporation (oil and gas), Aberdeen International Inc.
(royalty), Sanatana Diamonds Inc. (diamonds) and Homeland Energy Group Ltd.
(coal); as Vice President, Finance of Glass Earth Limited (gold) and Luiri Gold
Limited (gold); and as a director of Apogee Minerals Ltd. (silver). Mr. Woodhead
is currently Chief Financial Officer of Crocodile Gold Corp. |
